Once Upon A Time ......

Once upon a time there was a lady named "Fee" who loved buying kits.  So much so that she had kits for making lots of big quilts and kits for making smaller items and they grew into a large pile.

"Fee's" teenage daughter happened to mention that "Fee" would never need to buy another craft item as long as she lived which got Fee to thinking.....  Hmmm maybe she's right.....  Just maybe.....

"Fee" was able to retaliate by saying that she had just finished Rosalie Quinlan's Breast Cancer heart project which took her many weeks, but she enjoyed making very much.

Look how big it is - You understand how long this took to stitch don't you ??  But it is now mounted and proudly hanging for all to see.

So this weekend "Fee" set about bringing out a few of her boxed big projects to decide which kit to tackle next.

So many of these kits were purchased because "Fee" fell in love with them and they had been put away until a rainy day and more time was found BUT

Yesterday a decision was made....  Along with all of the other current WIP's it was decided to make a start on Angel Story.  The kit is at least 3 years old and "Fee" still adores the fabric it was made up in so
The first block was born and put in "Fee's" sewing basket alongside her recliner with all of the other WIP's...  Hopefully it won't take another 3 years to get it finished.

THE END

Hugs - Fee X

I had to pinch myself several times reading this post. I think I may be your long lost twin! I too have said collection of kits and made the decision this year to work on WIPs, before starting new things! If I don't love it anymore, I am finishing it off by making it a mini version of the original or giving it to a fellow sewer who will love it enough to finish and enjoy it!

Your heart is really striking and well worth the time taken to complete. Don't feel bad about having WIP for a long time. I still have a quilt in pieces from 27yrs ago. One day........ Hugs Mrs A.

And once upon a time .... there was another girl called Fee (Fiona) and she had exactly the same story ... too many projects to finish and not enough time ... too many things she fell in love with and just "had to have" .... ahhhhh .... my kindred spirit!!! xx

Beatiful Fee! Just like you!
I've found that most of the fun comes in just "collecting things" for the rainy days that may come. Even if they don't ever come, the collections of beautiful things make us smile and bring us much joy. Isn't that what life is all about after all? Little things that bring us much joy. :)
Hugs!

I dont know what "Fee" is talking about. NO one that I know does that. Especially me, I kit up a pattern and I complete the project within the same month. When you are done laughing...
Of course we all buy faster than we sew. Its a burden but I think we can live with it. Who could be happier with such a task at hand.
